Dear OCEA member,
As we begin another challenging year, it’s important to take a moment to realize how far we’ve come and what we can learn from all that we’ve been through. This year, OCEA celebrates its 75th anniversary. OCEA has grown from meeting in a small room in a one-bedroom home in Santa Ana to fighting on behalf of nearly 18,000 Orange County public employees and their families. We’ve created an interactive online timeline of OCEA’s history to show the struggles and successes we’ve gone through during these past 75 years.
A lot has changed throughout OCEA’s history. But our values have remained unwavering. It’s a great reminder as we approach negotiations and elections this year that if we stick together, remain smart and work hard, we can do anything together.
