
In the course of the present financial crisis, the County has implemented layoffs of hundreds of employees and has proposed additional layoffs. These layoffs are impacting some units more than others. Below is information relating to units for which the County has recently formally proposed layoffs.
All employees who have received a layoff notice from the CountyNOTE: This includes those who are currently not working for a County Agency/Department because they were laid off and employees who have received a notice of layoff but are still working for a County Agency/Department until the effective date: County Agency/Departments with vacancies will contact laid off employees or those who received notice of layoff who: √ Have submitted a transfer application for the job classification of the subject vacancy and Laid off employees and employees who have received a notice of layoff must ensure their current contact information is included on the transfer application(s) they submit so they can be contacted as vacancies occur. The following is a help guide provided by the County to assist you in submitting a transfer application noted above as a step in ensuring that you will be contacted by County Agency/Departments when a vacancy occurs. Any employee who is vulnerable to layoff (received a notice of layoff but is still coming to work until the effective date), or who has already been laid off can access the transfer site via the internet. NOTE: When you see “vulnerable to layoff” in the attached instructions, it applies to those employees who received a notice of layoff and who are not currently working for a County Agency/Department because they were laid off and employees who have received a notice of layoff but are still working for a County Agency/Department until the effective date of the notice.
