Sheriff's Special Officer Juan Villegas has been employed in the Sheriff’s Department for two decades. He is also a longtime OCEA member—he joined OCEA way back in 1992! Now Juan has written a book promoting healthy family development, directed primarily at the Spanish-speaking community.
As a Sheriff’s Special Officer, and as an instructor with a juvenile diversion program developed by the Orange County Bar Foundation, Juan has been in an excellent position to learn about many of the problems facing today’s youth, as well as some of the solutions to those problems.
Juan’s new book is a Spanish-language volume on parenting, entitled La Vida Tiene Valores.
Juan’s book has garnered a lot of media attention, and recently he was interviewed by the OC Register. You can read more here.
Juan closes the book’s introduction with this proverb: “El que no siembra, no cosecha.” This may be translated, “He who does not sow, does not harvest.”
