Public Assistance Investigators

Orange County Public Assistance Investigators are part of the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation. Public Assistance Investigators are commissioned (sworn) peace officers with Peace Officer authority as defined by the California Penal Code section 830.35. These employees perform a wide range of duties, including the investigation of fraudulent receipt of or application for welfare aid.
