The employees of the County of Orange’s Social Services Agency provide vital services and support to Orange County’s adults and children through SSA’s Adult Services and Assistance (ASAP), Children and Family Services (CFS), Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS), and Administrative Services Programs. It is estimated that SSA employees provide assistance to one out of every nine Orange County residents. This assistance positively impacts the health, safety, and well-being of children, disabled adults, seniors, and families. With the mission of delivering "quality services that are accessible and responsive to the community, encourage personal responsibility, strengthen individuals, preserve families, and protect vulnerable adults and children," in 2008 SSA identified the following as priorities:
