A great many OCEA members are sworn Peace Officers. All of our members in the Probation Services Unit and the Probation Supervisory Management Unit are Peace Officers. All of our Park Rangers are Peace Officers as well, as are our Sheriff’s Special Officers, Deputy Coroners, and Public Assistance Investigators. All of these employees work for the County of Orange. We have developed special programs, such as our OCEA Peace Officer Protective League, to help address the needs of Peace Officers. Broadly speaking, our peace officer members may be grouped as follows: - Park Rangers - Peace Officers in the Probation Services Unit (including DeputyJuvenile Correctional Officers, Senior Juvenile Correctional Officers, and Deputy Probation Officers) - Peace Officers in the Probation Supervisory Management Unit (including Supervising Juvenile Correctional Officers and Supervising Probation Officers) - Sheriff's Special Officers (including Sheriff’s Special Officer I, Sheriff’s Special Officer II, and Special Officer III) - Deputy Coroners (including Deputy Coroner, Senior Deputy Coroner, and Supervising Deputy Coroner) - Public Assistance Investigators (in the District Attorney's Office) Below are links to the Peace Officer categories of OCEA members.
