By joining your fellow employees as members of OCEA, our union is made stronger. We develop goals and bargaining proposals, and our membership stays united behind these goals. The more members we have, the greater our strength is. This enables us to achieve more for our members, in terms of better wages and benefits. Through our unity, we have accomplished great things, including a “2.7% at 55” retirement benefit for many County and Court employees, an increase in County Health and Welfare contributions, safety membership for deputized Probation Department employees, Annual Leave (with more flexibility than vacation and sick leave, and vastly improved payoff for unused leave at separation), and improvements in disability benefits.

Supplemental Benefits!

OCEA offers a variety of excellent dental and vision plans which are available to members only, by payroll deduction.  You may sign up for supplemental benefits (which are paid for by payroll deduction) at the time you are hired, or during the annual open-enrollment period.  These benefits are administered by the OCEA Health and Welfare Trust.

Tickets and Discounts

Another terrific benefit of OCEA membership is the ability to buy discounted tickets to the movies, and to local theme parks, and to a variety of other events.  We also have an OCEA discounts program, through which our members can receive discounts with local merchants.
